Abstract

部分空間法は少数の低次の固有ベクトルのみを用いて認識を行うものであり， マハラノビス距離を用いた手法でも計算量削減のために低次の固有値・固有ベクトル のみを用いた認識手法等が提案されている． その場合，認識に有効な固有ベクトルを選択することが必要となるが， これまで各固有ベクトルが認識率にどのように寄与するかの考察は ほとんど行われていなかった． 本研究では，マハラノビス距離および部分空間法の類似度において認識に寄与する 固有ベクトルを考察するために，一部の固有ベクトルのみを用いた 認識実験を行った． その結果，マハラノビス距離では比較的高次の固有ベクトルが， 部分空間法の類似度では低次の固有ベクトルのみが認識に寄与していることが 分かった． また，部分空間法が少ない次元数で高精度な認識を 実現できることが確認された．
