Abstract

物体認識の手法として，認識対象を撮影した画像から特徴点を抽出し，特徴点の配置に基づいて認識するものが提案されている．しかし，従来手法には，画像に含まれる特徴点の数が多いと処理時間が膨大になるという問題がある．我々はすでに，特徴点の局所的配置を利用することで多数の特徴点のパターンとして記述される画像を高速に認識する手法を提案している．また，この手法の高速性を利用した拡張として，英文文書を対象としたリアルタイム文書画像検索法についても提案している．本稿では，この手法の実用性を確認するために，様々な条件でWebカメラを用いたリアルタイム文書画像検索の実験を行った．その結果，認識対象の一部からでもほぼ100%での検索が可能であり，低い解像度や紙面の湾曲に対するロバスト性をもつことが示された．
